Mentoring Program: The mentoring program is available to current or former foster care youth who have a desire to pursue post-secondary education at Michigan State University. The formal relationship between the mentor and mentee should last for no less than a year allowing time for an ongoing relationship to develop the mentee's personal and professional skills. Mentors and mentees form a relationship for a minimum of one year- averaging four hours of time commitment each month. The mentoring relationship consists of face-to-face meetings, in addition to telephone, e-mail, and other social media mediums.
